I just received Anup and Amy's album in the mail. It's a 12"x12" coffee table book from Blurb.com. I'm a big fan of Blurb books. They're an inexpensive alternative to a traditional wedding album. I'm planning to use them for a couple books of my non-wedding photos.

4th Pool Party
Saturday, Arielle and I were invited to a pool party by Michael and Jill. We happily grabbed our swim suits and headed over. It beat our previous plan of heading town to Tempe to watch the fireworks there. It was a good day, good company, good margaritas and great guacamole.
On the way back we pulled over to catch the fireworks near our house.

Anup and Amy - Wedding Album
I spent the weekend working on Anup and Amy's album. Lately more clients have been interested in coffee table books. I use Blurb Books. Their album will be a 12x12 book.

Greyhound Park
This evening I wandered over to Phoenix Greyhound Park. It's an interesting place. While it wasn't very busy, there were some interesting stories.

Anup and Amy - Holga Photos
Like I've done with the past couple weddings, I took my Holga and shot some photos. I don't usually pull out the Holga until after the ceremony. Most of the stress from the day is gone and everyone is more willing to play and have fun. This fits what I'm looking for in my Holga photos.

Raleigh Trip
Last weekend Arielle and I headed back to Raleigh to visit friends and for Anup and Amy's wedding. This was my first opportunity to take the light rail to the airport. Since my flight was at 9:30, I left a little after 7 to make sure I had plenty of time to get to the airport and through security. On the way I lucked out with the light reflecting off the train and on the lady with the cool bike.
Excluding the wedding, we pretty much hung out with friends. It was very relaxing and helped recharge my creative batteries.

Anup and Amy
were married on Saturday at The Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC. This wedding was a little different for me. It was the first time I contracted out a wedding with de L'oeil Photography. See, I was a groomsman and unable to be the main photographer. I hired longtime friend, Ray Black III, and brought along my trusty assistant, Arielle, to cover the wedding. I'll soon be adding a gallery of Ray's photos to the website and he will be our lead east coast photographer.
I met Anup about 10 years ago. Both of us were right out of college and he was new to North Carolina. We hit it off and have been friends ever since. Anup's friendship is one of those that is just easy. No matter what happened or how long it had been since we hung out, things picked up seamlessly right were they left off. When he mentioned he was dating someone, it seemed odd at first. He was never one to anounce something like that. After I met Amy, I knew why. She's an amazing woman that is great for him. I'm fortunate to have Anup as a friend and honored he asked me to be in his wedding. I'm extremely happy they now have each other.
The day was a blast, especially after I stopped trying to get out of the way of Ray and Arielle taking photos. I forgot that this time, I was allowed to be in them.
